OPAL’s New Expense Accountant & CRM Specialist!

We’re excited to welcome Bethany Hansen to the OPAL team as our new Expense Accountant & CRM specialist!
Bethany is no stranger to Orcas Island. Raised here, she returned to the island after building her career in accounting and business operations within the renewable energy and infrastructure industries. Before joining OPAL, Bethany worked at Plus Power and was previously promoted to Accounts Payable Manager at Better Earth.
At OPAL, Bethany brings a unique combination of accounting expertise and technical problem-solving skills. She works with programming, Excel, ERP and CRM systems, and workflow automation to help streamline accounting processes, improve reporting, and keep the many moving pieces of our work organized.
Bethany’s connection to the island goes back to her school days. She graduated from Orcas Island High School as Salutatorian in 2017, then graduated Magna Cum Laude from Western Washington University in 2021 with a B.A. in Business Administration, Management, along with minors in Accounting and Economics.
After spending time building her career off-island, Bethany and her husband, Jordan Randolph—her high school sweetheart—are happy to be back home. Together, they have two dogs and three cats, and enjoy exploring Orcas through hiking, swimming, and boating. We’re especially happy to welcome someone who grew up here and has chosen to return and build her life and career in the community that shaped her.
Welcome to OPAL, Bethany! We’re so glad you’re here.
