Lydia Lane
Lydia Lane is a 14-lot neighborhood located near Rosario that has OPAL and non-OPAL homeowners. The neighborhood was originally developed 2008 in collaboration with Homes for Islanders. In 2018 a homeowner who wanted to sell asked OPAL for help finding a buyer. OPAL had the perfect family, and also some grant funding available to lower the price of the home and convert it to a permanently affordable community land trust property. The next year OPAL helped two more sellers and then in 2020, OPAL purchased six vacant lots in the neighborhood. The fourth OPAL home in the neighborhood is a house moved from elsewhere on the island to one of the newly acquired lots. The remaining five vacant lots are available for OPAL to develop additional housing.
